This architectural marvel stands at the heart of the remnants of the Alexandrian Serapeum, a grand temple constructed during the Greek era in Egypt. Built predominantly during the Ptolemaic kingdom, the temple was dedicated to the god Serapis, believed to be the guardian of Alexandria.

Next, we proceed to the magnificent Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, one of the largest Roman catacombs. Originally carved for Pharaonic purposes and later romanized, these catacombs were in use until the late 4th century A.D before being abandoned. Descend the cylindrical water well staircase, approximately six meters in diameter and ten meters deep, to explore the three floors of catacombs.
